It is Finished
I'm finished with my fifth semester at the uNiVersIty of vIrGinIA! I trust all went well, so I can have a pleasant break with the fam. And I know I will. : ) Time for relaxation beyond measure...working at my fav. store, hanging out with mis chicas, spending time with mi familia, eating really good food, 80 degree weather in the winter (that's the H for ya), decorating the tree, opening presents, staying up late watching shows online/dvds with my sistas, dancing to the mix on 97.9 the Boxx while cleaning the kitchen, baking everything possible, curling up with a good book, sugar scrubs, planning for the future...reviewing espanol and getting ready for organic chem II, practicing piano, finishing my quilt (hopefully), finishing my scrapobooks, taking pics galore to add to my collection, este es vida!

So Tired
When will it end? I am one crazy chica to be taking five finals, yes cinco. I have completed three. Never again. Of course, I can't say that..I do have to get these classes completed and such is my life and all the desire to get to that never seeming light of my life. I'm praying for the best on my finals. All that effective studying, it shall show forth. Now if I could only dream a dream in my sleep, possibly on tonight. I do have an essay exam to write and a lab final to study for...hmmm...this somewhat complex state I'm in needs to change in my life. It is no way to carry on day by day. It will. Oh, it will one of these days.

I Come to the Garden Alone
I came across this hymn in my quiet time the other day. My mother always used to sing this to me and my sisters when were little (and she still does to this day to the other peeps abiding in the household). It was my grandfather's favorite song. I just wanted to share it. I didn't actually know there were more verses after the first two. I may have some discourse on it later.
I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses.
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.
He speaks, and the sound of His voice,
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing,
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing.
I'd stay in the garden with Him
Though the night around me be falling,
But He bids me go; through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling.
I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses.
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.

The Color Purple
I love the color purple. I most certainly do. Purple is a way of life. How can you live without it? It symbolizes royalty. And I am most certainly royalty. Nothing less. Not meaning I'm better than someone or wealthy or this that and the other. But I have a sense of who I am and whose I am and it is required of me to fulfill the purpose set for my life.

Online Dating

There is the new online dating site for single Christians called www.faithmate.com. Do you think it is wise for Christians to make a move to find their potential soul mate online? I think it is rather ridiculous. If I have an affection for someone, I would rather get to know them in person, know their true character from a I can see you basis, not a peek-a-boo I see you online basis. Could you really trust that person even though it is a Christian online dating site? You have to be careful about who you come into contact with online. I wouldn't take the chance with such romance.
SHOUT
I knew it! I'm so thankful that everything worked out with my financial award at UVA. I'll be there for my third year and beyond. God is so awesome! I was expecting, faithful, patient, and prayerful and He blessed me indeed. There is no one like Him to turn things around for better. I can shout and do twirls and cartwheels from here to yonder because He has been so good to me. What He did for me, He can do the same for you. Nothing is impossible if you TRUST in God. Not just a little bit, but all of you must trust in Him. Never put your trust in man because they just don't understand who, what, when, where, and how you are to BE. Simply you are to BE like God's son, Jesus, the only perfect man who went through ups and downs just like you and me but stayed on the straight and narrow path. 1 Peter 1:16 says: "Be holy, because I am holy." You just can't put your trust in any ordinary man. He doesn't know where you've been and where you are going. Only God knows. Well, I shout the victory, shout because I've been set free, SHOUT!

JOY

Can you believe it? It is finally August. It is finally here. Meaning, summer is almost over, I'm turning 20, and I'm becoming stronger through the test of patience and faithfulness. I'm going through a test right now considering some things have yet to be fixed with my financial aid at UVA. But I'm trusting and believing God is already working it out, and I refuse to fret and complain even though I feel the need to holler and scream. I just can't, I just can't. I just continue to thank the Lord for all that He's done, what He's doing right now, and what He'll do. A certain Bible verse comes to mind: "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perserverance (James 1:2-3)." I'm so glad that I'm going through this, seems somewhat peculiar, but I have this uncomparable JOY to know that this only makes me stronger and closer to my GOD.
